Hi arch people,
at the moment i'm taking a deeper look into the django webframework. As i heard that archlinux.org was built with django as well, i wondered what httpd and python module (mod_python, etc) archlinux.org is run on, looking for the best way to use python in combination with a webserver.
Any hints would be appreciated.
Greetings
Oliver

archlinux.org seems to run apache

yes. archlinux.org currently runs: django + apache + mod_python
However, for my server, I run: nginx + (prespawned django-fcgi)
My server is dedicated to python apps, however. The arch server handles alot of php and various cgi apps (viewcvs). Apache excels at being the 'do everything' horse. It isn't the fastest, but it is quite versatile.

php is in there too. I stated that in my post, but not explicitly in the first line.
Memory usage is fairly high. Each forked instance uses about..26MB of private (non shared) ram.
I vastly prefer nginx to lighty, but that is just my opinion based on personal experience.
They are both fine projects.
