[solved] Running Netbeans / Swing-Applications

Hello there,

I got through installing Netbeans and Stuff, but somehow it seems, that Swing isn't working, because every time I try to start netbeans, an empty window opens, titled Netbeans 5.5.1 and that's it. I mean, it's obvious, that it is the real Netbeans and that it is up and running, because when I close that window (with that funny X on the top right corner), that small dialogue with "Saving Settings" or whatever appears, but, like the main window, with no content at all, just titled like that.

Can someone help me with that?! I have no clue why that happens.

I got the right Java-Stuff installed, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to install netbeans at all.

Are you running it with Compiz / Beryl / Compiz Fusion?

Swing doesn't work with compositing.

Yes, thank you, I found that myself yesterday night shortly before going to bed :-D After I turned Beryl off, everything worked fine :-D

Thank you anyway :-)

I just changed the title to [solved] and appended "Swing-Apps" so that it's easier to find for other people ;-)
