Slow web page rendering with Konqueror

Hello!

I have difficulty with some web page and konqueror.
Exemple:
http://www.clubic.com/actualite-79521-a … maine.html

The rendering is painful and my CPU go up to 100% yikes

I already had disable IPV6 and I also tried this trick (last post):
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? … 518&page=2

I change my /etc/resolv.conf to:

# Generated by dhcpcd for interface eth0
nameserver 24.200.241.37
#nameserver 192.168.0.1

and prevent dhcpcd to replace it.

Most of the website are alright but others are painful.

Help ? big_smile

Re: Slow web page rendering with Konqueror

I maybe wrong but I think its the java bits I've also discovered that Konqueror has the odd dislike to Java bits. Partly the reason why I do have firefox on my system.

As an example using my very limited skills with java I was playing with a web page. In FIrefox it renders fine yet in Konqueror it renders vertically when it should be horizontal. I'm not sure and suspect I could fix it if I knew how but as said I have limited skills with java.

I tried without java and javascript but I did not see any difference.

I have done all your tips skottish except for pdnsd but it did not help.

Yes, the first URL works fine on my machine. It takes maybe five seconds for the whole content to appear.

Pdnsd is by far the most important element in my posts from the other thread. It will instantly make a huge difference in rendering speeds.

Re: Slow web page rendering with Konqueror

why disable ipv6 in  /etc/profile.d/kde.sh and not disabling it globally?

Re: Slow web page rendering with Konqueror

It's funny, I had the IPv6 module blacklisted in rc.conf, but it kept magically starting itself. That wiki page explains a lot.

Re: Slow web page rendering with Konqueror

Hello!

I will try Pdnsd but before that I want to be sure your understand my problem.
Konqueror is really fast to load any page. I don't have any problem with that.

My problem is when the page is loaded and I scroll it fast, the images and the page are lagging ( Correct word? ) and it takes a lot of CPU.
It is like a website who used to much flash...

Here a screenshot when I scroll really fast:

konqui-problem.png

In this screenshot, you see the same image that repeat itself when I scroll too fast.
At the same time, my CPU go up to 100%.

I tried to start Konqueror in a shell but there are no errors printed.
I also check my Xorg.0.log but there are nothing abnormal there.

Thank you for your help.
