Re: help compiling wine

Just do "pacman -S wine" without the quotes, it is in the repositories.

Re: help compiling wine

I think its in community repository.

<any text editor> /etc/pacman.conf

and make the following lines look like this:

[current]
# Add your preferred servers here, they will be used first
Include = /etc/pacman.d/current

[extra]
# Add your preferred servers here, they will be used first
Include = /etc/pacman.d/extra

[community]
# Add your preferred servers here, they will be used first
Include = /etc/pacman.d/community

Re: help compiling wine

/etc/pacman.conf already looks like that.

This also produces the same error as pacman -S wine.

Re: help compiling wine

Try 'pacman -Syy wine'. If even that won't work, show your /etc/pacman.conf and any files in /etc/pacman.d/ you might have included.

Re: help compiling wine

Not working so here's /etc/pacman.conf:

#
# /etc/pacman.conf
#
# See the pacman manpage for option directives

#
# GENERAL OPTIONS
#
[options]
LogFile     = /var/log/pacman.log
HoldPkg     = pacman glibc
#XferCommand = /usr/bin/wget --passive-ftp -c -O %o %u

#
# REPOSITORIES
# - can be defined here or included from another file
# - pacman will search repositories in the order defined here
# - local/custom mirrors can be added here or in separate files
# - repositories listed first will take precedence when packages
# have identical names, regardless of version number
#
#[testing]
#Include = /etc/pacman.d/testing

[current]
# Add your preferred servers here, they will be used first
Include = /etc/pacman.d/current

[extra]
# Add your preferred servers here, they will be used first
Include = /etc/pacman.d/extra

[community]
# Add your preferred servers here, they will be used first
Include = /etc/pacman.d/community

#[unstable]
# Add your preferred servers here, they will be used first
#Include = /etc/pacman.d/unstable

# An example of a custom package repository. See the pacman manpage for
# tips on creating your own repositories.
#[custom]
#Server = file:///home/custompkgs

/etc/pacman.d/current:

Server = http://mirrors.easynews.com/linux/archlinux/current/os/x86_64

Of course there is more to it, but  it's all comments.

/etc/pacman.d/community

Server = http://mirrors.easynews.com/linux/archlinux/community/os/x86_64

Re: help compiling wine

64 Bit? Okay. Go to the right subforum and ask again, I've no clue about that. Probably some lib32 stuff on AUR or so.

Re: help compiling wine

wine isn't able in the 64-bit repository, you would need to investigate the bin32-wine and the lib32-packages in community/AUR, or set up a 32-bit chroot and run wine from there (this is documented in the wiki).
