Benchmarking

I want to bench and compare the performance of my systems with other peoples systems.

What tools are out there which are suitable for Unix-like operating systems (e.g. GNU/Linux, BSD, ...)

And they should be free as in speech, I don't want binary-only benchmarking tools..

Any suggestions?

Edit: If possble, name only CLI-programs. Thanks.

Re: Benchmarking

I recently stumbled across this GTK tool called 'HardInfo'.

Re: Benchmarking

Exactly! hardinfo is excellent. It runs all sorts of benchmarks and prints them out (on screen). The output is not pretty, but it is very useful. I would strongly recommend it. hardinfo is not in the main Arch repositories, but it is in AUR. Go get it and try it out. I think it is just what you are looking for.
