i think ibiblio is having some problems because i can't install libpng. it complains that it can't find the file.

Hmm....why is it trying to get that particular version? There is a libpng package in current, but it's 1.2.18-1 .

libpng was just updated to 1.2.20 : http://archlinux.org/packages/4126/
It's still strange that current.db.tar.gz was updated on that mirror, but not libpng 7h after.
Maybe you could try sending a mail to the admins of that mirror.
