Arch Linux Review

Hi there,

I am not sure if this kind of post is allowed, if not please feel free to remove it.

I recently tried Arch, after being a Linux user for over 5 years and I was so impressed that after using it for a while in an old laptop of mine, I decided to install it into my main PC among Ubuntu and Fedora 7.

So I have written a small review for Arch in my blog here:

If you're interested have a look and tell me what you think! tongue

Re: Arch Linux Review

Very good review. I'd mention the fact that you'll need 686 proc. or higher when you want to use arch.

Somewhere between "too small" and "too large" lies the size that is just right.

Re: Arch Linux Review

Nice review, i like the part that mentions how simple and easy it is to create a PKGBUILD, as it is one of my main reason for using arch. I never could be bothered to learn how to make a .deb or .rpm but with arch its so simple smile

Re: Arch Linux Review

this is a very nice review indeed
most arch reviews i've read deal mostly with how-to install packages & i like the part where it doesnt mention that the most

There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

Re: Arch Linux Review

Thanks everyone for the positive replies. smile
You are right for the mention of i686, I'll probably add it later.

As I mention in my review I found the wallpaper it in Gnome-Look.org.
