pacman and cache directory

Hello,

if I copy the pacman cache to another arch box, pacman won't
recognize the files in the cache and will start a new download.
In the faq I read that there is no index file or something similar,
but it seems that I'm doing something wrong.

Both pacman versions are identical.

What can I do?

greetings
Volker

Re: pacman and cache directory

What are you copying to where?

Re: pacman and cache directory

I copy  the files from box 1
/var/cache/pacman
to
var/cache/pacman  at box 2
File trustees (chmod/chown) are identical.

Re: pacman and cache directory

It's really important that they are in /var/cache/pacman/pkg, can you verify that the packages are in that directory?
