GTK-Qt Engine dragging in GNOME dependencies O.o

I hadn't done a 'pacman -Syu' for some time so I went ahead yesterday to get myself up to speed.
But when it listed all the updates, there was a dozen or so GNOME libraries it wanted to download.
I found out the culprit was the upgrade of 'gtk-qt-engine' from 0.7-3 to 0.8-1.
All of a sudden, 'gtk-qt-engine' had a whole bunch of unneeded dependencies, which as a KDE user, I certainly didn't want polluting my system neutral

libglade-2.6.2-1 libgnomecanvas-2.14.0-2 gconf-2.18.0.1-4 smbclient-3.0.26a-1 gnome-mime-data-2.18.0-3 gnome-vfs-2.18.1-2 orbit2-2.14.8-1 libbonobo-2.18.0-2 libgnome-2.18.0-2 libbonoboui-2.18.0-2 libidl2-0.8.8-1 shared-mime-info-0.22-1

Checking the repos, we can see 'libbonoboui' is a dependency now. But checking the project site shows it's optional.
I updated it anyway, ignoring dependencies. And it works fine without the added trash.

As I am unfamiliar as to how to contact maintainers, I thought I'd post here to raise awareness and hopefully someone can update the package without the dependancy on GNOME libraries.

Already mentioned here :
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=36923

Based on what JGC said, I am not sure what should be done.
But you could always try reporting a bug -> bugs.archlinux.org .

pacman roulette : pacman -S $(pacman -Slq | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))
