First boot kernel panic error

Hi, I just installed Arch this morning, and set up went pretty normal, but on first boot, I get this message:

Waiting 0 s before mounting root device...
kinit: Cannot open root device sda3(8,3)
kinit: init not found!
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

I tried several times, with and without boot hooks. Every time, same!
My hard disk partitions:

sda1 - Windows C:
sda2 - Windows Logical part.
sda3 - Linux ext3
sda4 - swap
sda5 - Windows D:
sda6 - Windows E:
(both D and E are inside logical part.)

My configuration is:

MB: ASUS P5LD2/C 945p
CPU: Intel Pentium D 915 2.8Ghz 2x2mb Dual Core
GPU: ASUS EAX 1650pro/HTD/256mb
HDD: Western Digital Caviar 160gb SATA-II
RAM: Corsair DDR2 512mb 667mhz

This is not my first linux dist. I used Mandrake (a long ago) and Gentoo, so I'm not newbie, but I'm no expert neither.
Can you tell me what might be the problem?
Thanx in advance! wink

pacman roulette : pacman -S $(pacman -Slq | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))
