firefox has stopped playing mp3s

I'm sure I saw something in the forums about this a while ago but can't find it now, anyway, when I click on a link to an mp3, firefox used to play it in mplayer, now just just tells me that it is a binary file and asks where to save it. How can I change this behaviour?
