pacman doesn't function correctly after recent update

See the following:

[root@myhost ganlu]# pacman -Ss x264
error: could not open file /var/lib/pacman/extra//ecasound-2.4.5-1/depends: No such file or directory

The right path is " /var/lib/pacman/extra//ecasound-2.4.5-1/depends", could someone have the same problem, thanks.

This has come up many times - just rm -r /var/lib/pacman/extra/ecasound-2.4.5-1 then re-run pacman -Sy

If you find out how it happened, or a way to reproduce it, please file a bug on bugs.archlinux.org
This would help greatly for tracking it down.
