rTorrent complications

Hi

I'm trying to use my arch installation more and more (I have dual boot), and I decided to move my torrent activity from uTorrent on windows to rTorrent on arch. But i have one problem. When i downloaded torrents in uTorrent, they often came in the form of a folder, lets say gobble/file[1-5].zip. If i didnt like the name of the folder i could rename it and uTorrent would still let me seed the contents (i just had to click: "set download location..."), but with rTorrent i havent managed to find a way to do just that. rTorrent always makes a new folder with the name that it is supposed to have, according to the torrent.

Is there any way to fix this?

Re: rTorrent complications

^O
Change the destination directory of the download. The torrent must be closed.

That is from `man rtorrent`

Happy torrenting.

Yes i know this, let me explain with an example:

Torrent bob.torrent contains a folder bob with two files bob/1.txt and bob/2.txt. I download this great torrent with uTorrent on windows, but i find out that keke is a more fitting name for the folder, so i rename it. In uTorrent i get an error, but i fix it by setting the download location to keke/. Then I boot linux, and start rTorrent. I load the torrent and click ^O, and I write the folder to save it in keke/, but the problem is that rTorrent thinks: "oh, no bob-folder here, i have to make a new one and download all the files again", so then it downloads them all to keke/bob/...

Hope this made my problem clearer...

Re: rTorrent complications

It's certainly clear, but it's also not a feature that rtorrent has AFAIK. Submit it as a feature request to the developer.

Re: rTorrent complications

AAAahhhh, ok.  So ^o does the root download folder, not renaming the folder the torrent is going into.

Definitely submit a feature request.  The development cycle on rtorrent is pretty quick.
