I'm in the process of doing a makeworld and it's running fairly well. Browsing the build.log I can see a couple of builds that have failed. One is freetype1, which failed because the download site has apparently changed. I modified the PKGBUILD file to download from one of the mirrors and makepkg worked fine. libart-lgpl and libbonoboui required a change as well, but once that was made they also worked fine.
gdk-pixbuf downloaded fine, but failed during the build. Again I modified the PKGBUILD to download the most current version and ran makepkg on it. gdk-pixbuf gives me an error of "compilation of scanner failed" and aborts. Is there a work around for this problem?
If I find any other problems I'll post them here.

linc also failed durning the makeworld process, so I tried makepkg on it and it worked fine. Go figure.

remember to abs your system from time to time
in that way you'll be in sync with Arch-current.
That should remove some of the makepkg problems
apt-get install arch

I'll keep that in mind

And, of course, remember to keep cvs, cvsup, and pacman up to date, too

Yeah I tried to install and update a system with an archlinux 0.2 cd, that was fun!
no pacsync directory, no dependencies ... I bailed out and downloaded 0.4 first
Oh well it's all working now, but I guess I have to delete it on my workstation since I need Java, J2EE, JSP and Tomcat. Java and GCC 3 is a no do
apt-get install arch
