[Solved] ACPI and SMP support

I've just built a new quad core machine, and have gotten through a few of the hangups, but I'm trying to resolve the following issue:

Booting normally causes a hang at ACPI initialization, but I can see that all 4 cores are getting initialized.

Adding acpi=off to GRUB allows the system to boot normally, but only with 1 core enabled.

This is using the Intel DG33TL motherboard and an Intel Q6600 CPU.  I've got the latest packages from pacman (I can't guarantee the kernel is 2.6.22.8, it may be .7) and have everything enabled in BIOS, as well as the latest BIOS from Intel.

Any help would be appreciated!

Solved:  It looks like I can pass pci=nommconf to the kernel at boot and everything works.  The real fix should be ready with the 2.6.24 kernel.

Re: [Solved] ACPI and SMP support

Hi, I also have Intel DG33TL and Quadcore Q6600. I can use ArchLinux without problems, with acpi.
The problem you're talking about disappeared (for me) reinstalling the system.
