GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap not found

Hi, have an ATI Xpress 200M on my laptop and using fglrx. I managed to get Xgl running (through startxgl not GDM) however whenever I want to start compiz-fusion I get the following error message.

bash-3.2$ fusion-icon
 * Detected Session: gnome
 * Searching for installed applications...
Backend     : gconf
Integration : true
Profile     : default
Adding plugin decoration (decoration)
Initializing decoration options...done
 * No GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap with direct rendering context
 ... nor with indirect rendering, this isn't going to work!
 * Non-mesa driver on Xgl detected
 ... exporting: LD_PRELOAD=/lib/mesa/libGL.so.1.2
 * Using the GTK Interface

(fusion-icon:15449): Gdk-WARNING **: Mask is 0 in visual. Server bug ?

I installed libx11 from testing (ver.  1.1.3-4) and followed the Xgl troubleshooting wiki and reinstalled libgl-dri. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to start Xgl with particular options?

Re: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap not found

Do you have the composite extension enabled in xorg.conf?
