For some reason my iPod will not mount anymore through HAL. I can mount it manually through "sudo mount /dev/sdba2" so it shows up under /dev but for some reason it won't mount automatically . Also it used to mount automatically but then after a pacman -Syu it stopped. There was nothing malicous installed I checked everything. Hal mount CD's though

I have the same problem which started just over a week ago after an update. I made a thread here, in the Desktop Environments forum but had no useful replies. This problem seems to affect all USB storage for me (including my ipod).
edit: In this thread it suggests adding FAM to the daemons list in rc.conf. I've never needed it before but i'll try that when I get home.
