Spam-bot protection

How well does the spam bot protection on the registration page work? Do you guys still get a significant number of "illegitimate users" signing up everyday? My forum gets about 20 per day and it's not that popular, and I'm tired of deleting them all. smile

Re: Spam-bot protection

Actually, I can count the spammers we've had since I added that on one hand (though I might have to cheat and use binary). It works very well so long as whatever you do is unique to your site. So whether it's a question that in itself contains the answer, a math problem, or an option box with the default set to failure (bots will often pick the default for unknown fields, that's the logic here), or whatever, it doesnt even have to be all that clever, you can stop most of your spam.

The suggestion box only accepts patches.
