persistant error with pacman

When ever I try to do anything with pacman, it keeps shooting this error out. I don't know what this means.

su -c 'pacman -Syu'
Password:
error: failed to init transaction (unable to lock database)
if you're sure a package manager is not already running,
       you can remove /tmp/pacman.lck

I think this was a fluke because at the same time my cpu was at 100. I did a reboot and all is fine again. Wierd.

Re: persistant error with pacman

If you run ps aux | grep pacman - is pacman running anywhere?  If it's not, remove /tmp/pacman.lck
