Sound with clicks

Hey, when I play music I hear some clicks or ticks or whatever, kind of like saturation. I have a nforce4 chipset with nvidia audio, and I'm using the snd-hda-intel module (dunno why really, that's what udev is using), is there something I can do?
(btw, it's the same no mater the player, and doesn't happen in windows, that's why I think it has to be something module-related)

Re: Sound with clicks

I've never experienced anything like this in linux, but I remember having a similar problem in Windows once and I ended up solving it by upgrading the power supply and changing the entire cooling infrastructure of my computer - so what I'm saying is the problem could very well be due to hardware rather than software, just something to keep in mind.

That's good. The problem might have been that your software was mixing the audio beyond clipping. If you found that simply turning the volume down in your music player or master mixer helped, that was probably the issue.
