Smallest possible Compiz install

What is the difference between compiz and compiz-git (in AUR). And, what packages do I need to install when I want additional compositing on my XFCE desktop (effects beyond the effects in xfwm) while keeping my system as LEAN, CLEAN and LIGHT as possible?

Git is the same as CVS or SVN or ...

Check wiki :
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Compiz_Fusion

I suggest you use pre-compiled binaries provided by nesl247 instead of compiling them yourself (from AUR).

Re: Smallest possible Compiz install

So git is a revision system? Thanks for that... could have found in on wikipedia as well, sorry about that.

Will compiz-fusion give me the smallest as possible compiz install?

Re: Smallest possible Compiz install

You can try pacman -S compiz-core compiz-decorator-gtk. < 2MB of disk space.
