GNOME (or GTK2?) update made some of my applications change language

Just noticed that some applications like XChat and Sonata all of sudden were in Swedish after running pacman -Syu yesterday and installing all those GNOME 2.20 updates. Though I'm not using GNOME but Openbox I have some applications that depend on different GNOME libraries/packages. My locales are set up to have the system in english (I prefer it that way), however it seems like GNOME/GTK2 have it's own language settings somewhere.

I'm using GDM and I think there was a small error message displayed at start when the deamons are started, however it didn't appear in neither dmesg or /var/log/messages.log so I have no idea what it was. I'm suspecting it could have something to do with the languages being all wrong.

Any one have any ideas or could point me to where GNOME (or GTK2) sets what language to use?

Logging in today I noticed even GDM had switched to Swedish, selecting the 'default langauge' turned out to somehow be Swedish now (it was English before), changing to English and making it default for my session takes care of the problem. I'm still curious to why it happened. Also found the error message GDM spits out right before it starts:

gdm-binary[4049]: WARNING: Didn't understand `' (expected true or false)

So something is wrong in the config.

I have also noticed that error, gonna look for a solution today.
