I did try alsaconf and it found Hda-Intel card but the mixers are showing almost nothing.. Just 1 bar..

I'm in the audio groups and the permissions seem to be fine.

Any suggestions ?

Re: No Sound With Testing/alsa-lib :(

When I first installed linux on my laptop (HP Pavilion dv5000) I had no sound, I found a sugestion that if I had the sound  turned down in windows XP, that it wouldn't work it linux. So I booted into windows and truned my volume up, then back to linux, sure enough, it was working all along, windows had turned down the hardware sound instead of software, or something like that.  Might be worth a try if you have windows on it.
