What's the issue? Is it missing? I have "Places" on my menu and there's stuff in there. I have no clue as to your issue.

Right in Places I has Home Folder Desktop etc.... click on them I get Could not open location 'file:///home/mrgreen'

Sounds like the problem I have here. Since I uninstalled Totem it's been giving me the same error as you describe,

totem is installed here,,,, maybe its a gconf thing will have to check

stange, it works like a charm here. Maybe your .gconf directory got corrupted somehow ?
Did you try to reset the folder 'open with' properties to 'Open Folder' (maybe after first setting it to something else) ? Others I have no clue

Glad to know it's not just me!
The damn thing opens with Konqueror - only from 'places' - desktop files etc. work fine
Anyone have a clue what's going on?

Yeah, that did it for me as well. I thought I'd been changing the way folders open already, but I changed that somewhere else. Thanks!
