Alright, I installed Arch just last night following the beginner installer guide and all went well up to the Audio. Nothing comes out. The KDE Multimedia package is installed. The sound card is recognized. My user name is in the audio group. And I have checked with the alsamixer to make sure that the volume is turned up. I can't find a solution. Any help?

When I play music in Amarok, the program shows all signs of playing music. The progress bar moves forward, the visualization bounces. But no sound comes out.

Did you run alsamixer, unmute the master and pcm channels and raise the volume levels? Also, did you add alsa to your DAEMONS line in rc.conf to save your volume levels?

Wow, sorry to bother all of you. It was a very obvious problem that I overlooked from the beginning. I did not have the pcm channel turned on in KMix. Thanks for your effort to help me. Sorry again.
