[Solved]Xorg - "hostname: Unknown host"

Hi,

after starting X with startx I get

hostname: Unknown host

X works fine, except that it takes quite log to start with  this message at start.

startx
then it takes some seconds
hostname: Unknown host
then X starts normal

In the logs there isnt anything interesting for this problem.

It would be nice if someone could tell me how to get rid of this message?

Thanks

Have you set your hostname in /etc/rc.conf?  I suppose /etc/hosts may be an issue too...

Re: [Solved]Xorg - "hostname: Unknown host"

Compare the <hostname> value for localhost in /etc/hosts with the HOSTNAME value in /etc/rc.conf. Make sure they are the same.
