I do not know whether this is true in all cases, although I am not sure what would be special about mine.
After installing and configuring btnx, I had a long pause (~2 minutes) in my boot process when loading udev uevents and had to start btnx by running sudo btnx & after startup.
I deleted the 99-btnx.rules file from /etc/udev/rules.d and added btnx to my daemons in /etc/rc.conf. The long pause is now gone and btnx works at startup.
