Latest SMPlayer hangs computer very often

i update my arch install a couple of days ago, and smplayer among other things get updated, to version 0.5.61, the problem is, when open a video clip from double clicking

- the program interface dont show up
- the audio plays fine in the background
- no keyboard or mouse click input nowhere, but can move cursor
- when the video/audio stream finish, the situation dont change

i try Ctrl+Alt+F2 to go to another virtual console with no success, any ideas about situations like this? where my limited knowledge force me to reboot the pc...

Re: Latest SMPlayer hangs computer very often

well no response with every key combination, so, im using mplayer for the time being... with this ~/.mplayer/config file:

# Write your default config options here!
vo=xv
ao=alsa
channels=2
alang=en,es
monitoraspect = "16:10"
subfont-osd-scale=3
subfont-text-scale=3
af=volnorm
#vf=denoise3d,pp

the only feature i need its mplayer to show me in the osd when i forward/backward its the time elapsed/total time of teh stream tongue
