Hi there,
i installed virtualbox (PUEL-Version) from the AUR as its shown Here.
But the fontcolor is a little bit strange as you can see here:
Maybe it a qt problem?
The Wiki-HowTo says that qt4 is needed. The pkgbuild needs qt, which is a qt3.x-version.
Someone who knows how to solve this prob?

Wiki updated, I was wrong when I first wrote it. VirtualBox is qt 3 based.
Anyway the problem is caused by the recent qt4 update which moves the qtconfig (qt4 version) from opt, to usr/sbin (or bin, I can't recall). Which for some reason breaks the qt3 configuration and it is switched to its ugly default (I'm having similar issues now with ugly opera, because of the recent qt 4 update)
You can solve the problem by removing qt4 (if you are not using some applications that may require it), installing qt3 and then configuring via qtconfig (I'm not sure whether that'll work or not, since I'm too lazy to try it myself.)

Hm... VBox was the only qt-based tool on my machine.
Not sure about Google-Earth? But Google-Earth has the same effects now
Both programms were newly installed today after i installed qt4. Reinstalling the apps won't help.
QT4 was removed from my system befor installing Google-Earth! Very strange!

BTW: I can't find qt-config

BTW: I can't find qt-config
It was removed in the latest version.
Use qtconfig now.

Even no qtconfig!
In which package it's included?
I installed qt4 and later qt. Dependency was checked and everything works fine!
Are there any other packages needed?

Hmm... no... but both qt and qt4 packages should provide a qtconfig tool.
Try removing qt4, installing qt, and then try to run qtconfig.
If it doesn't work go to your /var/cache/pacman/pkg and open with file-roller or similar the qt .pkg.tar.gz file and see where is the qtconfig located.

OK, found qtconfig in qt4, but configuring doesn`t change anything!
I'm not sure that it`s a qt-problem!
The prob only comes with virtualbox and Google-Earth!
Removing all files and reinstalling Google-Earth with no qt present should solve the prob if its a qt based problem! What do you think?
After this i could go ahead with vbox and qt3. Hmm...

VirtualBox uses Qt3; the right qtconfig would be /opt/qt/bin/qtconfig then.

As i said above. I'm not sure if it's really that problem.
I still have the same problems with Google-Earth and Opera so far.
Right now, there is no qt installation on my PC. I also removed VirtualBox.
The same problem appears on my ubuntu-installation.
To resume:
I have to different installations running. Both with gnome 2.20.x and on both systems appears a problem with fontcolor in menus on (so I think) qt-based installations.
So: Is there a programm that manages fonts/fontcolor for qtbased apps within an gtk Environment?
EDIT: Even this: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … based_apps does not solve the problem.

Damn, you are right.
qtconfig solves the problem.
But as long as the colors have so less contrast that you even couldn't find the rigth menu within qtconfig...
