change kdm theme with kdemod

Although I have the KDM Theme Manager available in the kcmshell, I am not able to actually set the theme. It seems I cannot use another theme other than KDEmod-kdm-userlist.

Is there a way I can actually change the theme?

Re: change kdm theme with kdemod

I can confirm this problem on a fresh install of arch x86_64

Harvey

Edit: Bug, see
http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/8208

Meanwhile you may want to edit /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/backgroundrc or kdmrc

Re: change kdm theme with kdemod

No dice. I even created a kdmrc in ~/.kde/share/config/kdm and replaced /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/kdmrc.default with an edited kdmrc.

Nothing

Re: change kdm theme with kdemod

I added

Theme=/opt/kde/share/apps/kdm/themes/yourthemedir
UseTheme=true

to
[X-*-Greeter]

in kdmrc

That did the trick for me

Hope this helps
Harvey
