Hi there

Hey, this is my first post, so I just thought I'd check in and say hello. smile

I've got a bit of a problem too... I'm trying to get Arch to run as a VM on VMWare but when I try to run /arch/setup it only gets as far as trying to partition the disk and then errors something like can't find /dev/sda . Anyone got any ideas?

Also, is it possible to install a bootsplash under Arch?

Thanks

Martin

Re: Hi there

Read the instructions before you type /arch/setup.  There is something about support for older hard drives (add legacy flag from memory).

Re: Hi there

at the livecd boot "boot: " type in "arch ide-legacy" I think that will solve your troubles. (If someone knows the correct way to say/type that, please chime in)

Re: Hi there

Thanks for the replies, I got it working eventually. Has anyone got any info on installing a frame buffer splash?
