SegFaults Galore

I'm having a bit of an issue atm. I am getting segfaults with a basic app - fdisk

[jon@archdesktop ~]$ fdisk
Segmentation fault
[jon@archdesktop ~]$

Also, as far as the config.log says, quicksynergy refuses to make from aur. I know the package works because i had been using it until i reinstalled arch today.

I've tried #archlinux on irc where i was promptly told by Borromini  "you fix the code regomodo" and that was that there.
Here i've seen people have had luck by reinstalling gcc and syslog-ng but that doesn't work.
On the wiki it suggests that it is a memory allocation issue.

This has happened to me before with Firefox but i cannot remember how i got rid of it

How do i sort this?

Re: SegFaults Galore

Run memtest and see whether your RAM isn't defective.

Re: SegFaults Galore

figured it out

After reinstalling and testing different memory modules i still got segfaults. I found  the culprit.

Dodgily burnt cd. It was my last hope so i got another arch cd and tried it. ATM no segfaults so far.
