Weird video problem

Ok, here's the thing. Every player I tried makes the movies too "pixelish", and the background isn't smooth. The only exception is MPlayer, but i can't make it play anything in fullscreen (the screen size remains the same, while black area around, spreads to the edges of the screen). I am using xf86-video-vesa (ati driver doesn't work, and I have Radeon X600Pro)

Any ideas?

Re: Weird video problem

What if you tried running mplayer with the following command :

mplayer -fs -zoom filename

As for the "too pixelish" problem well... you could try increasing the "nice" level (at least in VLC). For the other video players I don't know.
