no color on TV out

go an older TV now(didnt before) so theres no S-video input...grr
so my Tv-out settings were all setup already so I plug it in to the new(old) tv, start a vid...no color...

so like I said no s-vid input so i got an adapter on it...dunno if its the adapter(it is the proper 4 pin plug that it needs)..kinda just lookin for BTDT's with you guys...might find you all say its the whole prob..

card is a radeon 9800 pro
