Once again, I'm having problems with the menu fonts in FF (using the stock Arch one, Bono Echo) and I don't know what caused it:
This morning I booted up and suddenly my menu fonts are different from the GTK settings. I didn't upgrade FF or anything.
I edited userChrome.css and added the following:
* { font: <weight> <style> <size> <family> !important; }
but no success.

I am changing fonts for menus in
(because I am using KDE) Control Center -> Appearance & Themes ->GTK Styles and Fonts
to keep them unified with the rest of desktop
another way would be by editing .gktrc-2.0 (if this keeps reverting to whatever, simply set file as read-only)
changing fonts in userChrome.css is quite limited as some FF themes will ignore these setings.

Perhaps you need to add a line in your ~/.gtkrc-2.0 config file that says the following:
gtk-font-name="myfont"
This always set the firefox font to myfont for me in the past, and in the present.
