[Solved]Exaile refuses to library any of my music

It says i have over 1000 items in collection, but doesn't show any of them to me.

0 showing / 1166 in collection

These are all AAC .m4a files on a FAT32 drive, it can play the songs individually but does not show album/artist/Genre on the left side.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem got to reload tracks every time I start it up...

you updated Exaile at all what version you running ?

tried running in a term to get any output

Exaile v0.2.11 - this is the first version I've tried, so i've had no previous settings or anything.

it was throwing errors in a term before when I tried to reload tracks etc, but now it is not doing that, but still not listing any music in the collection:/

My problem was the following:

After getting exaile to spit out some errors for me again, I noticed it was popping a UTF-8 error on one single music file, which contained an unknown character.

I renamed the file but the error continued, the only way to reset the cache for the player it seemed was to delete the .exaile preferences folder, which then allowed the file to be read correctly and the collection to be loaded.

ahh so you got it working?

I never touched my configs so maybe that the problem, it happens quite often config file options change and new versions will not work correctly....

Its a pain because I have set up my plugins and radio stations so I do not want to lose them [will backup first]
