After I restart my computer mpd daemon no longer works. Trying to start mpd daemon manually with /etc/rc,d/mpd start results in [FAIL] message without any error message. mpd.error log is no help either. Anyone got any idea what's wrong here?

Try running it manually at the command line.

Try running mpd as root?

I meant literally "mpd". rc.d/mpd supresses output, but running "mpd" should give you more verbose output.

Sorry for taking so long to responds, guys. I've been busy with my new toy (Eee PC) and kinda neglect my main box a little bit.
Anyway, I manages to get mpd daemon running again by uninstall & reinstall the thing. Not sure what is wrong with it in the first place though. Oh well, at least it works now. Thanks for your help & suggestions guys, I really appreciated it.
