[solved] acpi lid state stays "close" after opening lid

Hi,

since a few weeks my lid-switch stopped working propably. after booting everything is fine (/proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state says "open"), but if a close my lid once the lid state stays "close" and lid-events are fired all the time (logged in /var/log/acpid.log), i can't log in any more and key-repeating (keeping the key pressed and moving allong) doesn't work any more (very annoying for the cursor and backspace keys). if i reboot everything's back to normal.

i've booted an grml live cd and there everything worked fine. so i guess it's no hardware issue. as well a few weeks ago everything worked fine on arch as well.

any suggestions? more specifinc infos needed?

2.6.23-ARCH
acpid 1.0.6-1

Re: [solved] acpi lid state stays "close" after opening lid

Does your grml live cd use the new 2.6.23 kernel or 2.6.22 or lower kernel version? Some people seem to have reported acpi issues with the new 2.6.23 kernel (in general i think, not arch specific). I've stayed on the 2.6.22 kernel for now because of these "problems" with the acpi.
