Re: [SOLVED] xhost acting strange

Do you have the correct entry in /etc/hosts?

grep localhost /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

If this happened only after recent X.org upgrade to 7.3 and it worked before then it could be a bug in X.org

no, it has nothing to do with the upgrade, i've had this problem for a while but i really don't mind that much, my hosts file is fine xhost +127.0.0.1 doesn't work either

Re: [SOLVED] xhost acting strange

Perhaps your X server is not set to listen to TCP connections.  Though "xhost +local:" should still work, since that will allow all local socket connections.
