Hope someone can help with this it's annoying. Whenever playing the game the sound clicks frequently, and this often causes the game to slow down and then jumps. Which kinda ruins the experiance. I think it's an SDL_sound problem as Critical Mass does the same and that uses SDL_sound
Any ideas? I'm gonna go search google again
I have have a via82xx on board sound.
I think I remember having this problem on other distros as well....not sure

Are you using the games' SDL libs or yours? You could try whichever one you're not using now. It helped me with NWN to use system libs.
If you develop an ear for sounds that are musical it is like developing an ego. You begin to refuse sounds that are not musical and that way cut yourself off from a good deal of experience.

how would I choose which one I use?

You can change the options in your /path/to/nwn/nwn. Just open it in your favorite editor. It should have a variable that points to the SDL libraries included in the game. Just point it to your system libs. I don't know about Critical Mass though. Actually, I haven't even heard of it before...

If you're not sure, it worked.
