[solved] Anyone else having problems using gpm to suspend?

I just installed gnome and pm-utils (and yes, i run apcid, hal, dbus etc), and even though /usr/lib/hal/scripts/linux/hal-system-power-suspend-linux seems to utilize pm-utils much like it did powersaved before that, suspending from gnome "Shutdown dialog" results in "sleep problem - your computer failed to suspend..." etc notification.
So before i report a bug, i was just wondering if it´s just me, or if something really *is* broken

[edit]oh, stupid me. i forgot to mention that i can suspend just fine, from a command prompt with pm-suspend... I was wondering if gpm/hal is somehow broken![/edit]

Try adding yourself to the 'power' group. sudo gpasswd -a user power. Then logout, login and try it again. That fixed it for me (along with using the nvidia instead of nv drivers...but that's another story!)

I didn't see any mention of  this in any document or the wiki article on pm-suspend for that matter...
