xmodmap not working [work around solution]

I have a simple xmodmap to swap the caps lock key with the escape key.  after doing a system upgrade it no longer works.

I know many people are having problems with the new xorg, but this seems to be the only problem i have after doing a system upgrade.

PS: i would rather have these keys remapped in xorg.conf, but I can't find a way.

Re: xmodmap not working [work around solution]

I added

Option  "XkbOptions" "ctrl:nocaps"

to xorg.conf file and now my mappings are working

Re: xmodmap not working [work around solution]

I would say this is not "solved" per se.  You got the behavior you wanted, but xmodmap is still broken.  This is the relevant bug.
