1) Graveman - Hangs on startup.:(
2) HacBurn - Doesn't detect my device and custom data burning is not working.:(
3) GnomeBaker- Hangs.:(
4) K3B-Works but heavy dependencies.:|
5) BashBurn- Need something with GUI.:|
6) brasero- Heavy dependencies haven't tested yet.:|

Re: CD DVD burner

graveman needs a media in the drive to start normally but its not working properly
your best bet if u want a graphical interface is to install k3b or brasero. maybe  gnomebaker too

There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

Re: CD DVD burner

If you use Nautilus as your file manager, it doesn't get much easier than the Nautilus integrated burning software.  Granted, it's not meant for advanced burning features, but it can easily create MP3 and data CD/DVD's.

Re: CD DVD burner

I can confirm this.
The only application that's work for me, is bashburn.
Graveman and Gnomebaker don't work.

Do you really need a GUI to burn a CD/DVD  ?

Re: CD DVD burner

When burning custom data CD, GUI becomes very helpful, I have no problem with bashburn but it doesn't even have a CUI file selector, how do you burn custom CDs in bashburn?

Re: CD DVD burner

+1, gnomebaker hangs just when it's about to start burning. I got around this previously somehow but I've forgotten how.

Cdrkit?

I am a lazy person and don't feel like typing, so I need a GUI to get my work done with mouse clicks. cdrkit only is too ''command prompty'' for me.

Re: CD DVD burner

a number of problems conserning to media burning seem to be related to the new libata subsytem in the kernel. maybe u could try compiling your own kernel with it disabled and try gnomebaker and greaveman again.
but still if u want a consistent app with a gui, there is none like k3b

Re: CD DVD burner

Graveman and gnomebaker works just fine in zenwalk linux which uses kernel 2.6.22 with libata subsystem, then why not in archlinux.

nerolinux in the AUR may just be what you are looking for!

But it requires a license and for that you need to pay. I also checked xcdroast it hangs at startup.

Re: CD DVD burner

This post says that cdrkit has some issues, it has link to old cdrtools which will fix the problem.

Re: CD DVD burner

Is this the reason why developers removed cdrtools from repo http://cdrecord.berlios.de/old/private/linux-dist.html

Re: CD DVD burner

cdrikit is the key....it will not work with anything but k3b and brasero atm...The others have not been updated and need the older cdrtools package.
