What's the use of DRI (for me) ?

I use my Arch64 Box to play  English Movies and watch some cartoons etc, except doing programming on it. I do not play games, I do not even install games. So I want to know if there is any point of activating DRI and using:

Load "glx"

in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf ?

You can use OpenGL for Compiz Fusion.
Or you can play movies via OpenGL instead xv.
Or you can watch pictures in OpenGL (check gliv!).

I don't play games in my office, I am a programmer, but I do everything in the Compiz Fusion, so OpenGL is used even when I write this post.

I have thought of that also.. I used to use compiz but play no games.. Now I dont use compiz but just now started playing zsnes games.. otherwise I never use it either. Playing movies via Opengl sucks.. takes more of cpu power -> fan noise, also reduced battery..
