mute rosegarden

Hi all,

I'd love to use rosegarden to improve my (so far very limited) musician skills. However, I haven't still got it fully working. The problem is that I cannot hear any playback. Everything seems OK, the playback is running, but no sound... I'm stuck now and thus I'd like to ask for help...

I've recompiled 2.6.23 kernel to support 1kHz timer.

I've installed timidity and a sound font and (with precisely the same settings as rosegarden is used with)

timidity file.mid

gives me a nice music.

Before running rosegarden, I run timidity++ daemon by /etc/rc.d/timidity++ start. I start jack by qjackctl. Eventually, rosegarden is run, the console output is attached on the very end of this post. The only suspicious thing are lines saying

ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:866:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave

Otherwise it looks OK. Using qjackctl I saw there are some connections between rosegarden and timidity++. They look OK to me (= a complete amateur).

Would you have a hint for me?

Many thanks, Kašpi.
