Xorg / Hal Mouse problem

So does anyone know a fix for this mouse problem:

Opengl (games) have a very weird mouse movement from time to time, It seems to happen mostly with 100% cpu usage and the problem is that mouse moves in wrong direction, jumps, keyboard moves mouse cursor and so on.

So its either hal / xorg and/or fglrx related issue. Anyone experiencing this?

So far i've tried to change evdev to default mousedriver and it works a little better but the problem still remains.

Using radeon9600 and usb logitech mx1000.

So needless to say i got my arch in most unstable state ever, I'd like some troubleshooting help and suggestions where to look for help. Seems only distros using the "buggy" new xorg are arch and gentoo?

Edit: I'll list other small (mostly fglrx related?) annoyances as well:
-Blender crashes when I try to open a file.
-Google-earth crashes with time.
-No compiz.
-Panels sometimes crash when restarting xorg.
-Shutdown didn't work, seems fixed now?
-Opengl apps only start with second try.
-amdcccle broken.
-mplayer desktop file was wrong, didnt open files from nautilus.

I have a nvidia card, and usb logitech mx510. I had exactly the same problem in warsow (so opengl game too).
I switched from evdev to mouse, and it totally fixed the problem, so I didn't try to look further. Like looking for an upstream bug report, etc.

Could you try commenting everything but the strict minimum in the mouse section ?
I think that is Identifier, Driver and Device. See if that helps.

You could also try with a new xorg.conf generated by Xorg -configure .

I had the exactly same problem with Sauerbraten(opengl?).
This problem is fixed by changing from "evdev" to "mouse". But then I cant configure all my mouse buttons. sad

Seems to happen in any game, perhaps related to SDL? Maybe I should test some games under Wine to see if anything different happens. Haven't tried changing the driver yet, but it would be nice to get evdev working again.

EDIT1: Tried Team Fortress Classic on Steam via Wine and there were no mouse problems.
EDIT2: Tried changing the driver and that corrected the problem.

Are you sure it's not an user error? It really seems like you are still using evdev... (I think I had the keyboard moving the mouse as well).
Could you paste your xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log ?

Well you know, the problem comes and goes now... The mouse "breaks" on startscreen of tremulous for example and works inside the game unless something graphically intensive happens (like someone using a flamer).
When that happens mouse goes nuts and "collides" with keyboard...

Well you know, the problem comes and goes now... The mouse "breaks" on startscreen of tremulous for example and works inside the game unless something graphically intensive happens (like someone using a flamer).
When that happens mouse goes nuts and "collides" with keyboard...

But I'm not sure if you tried my suggestions, so I repeat them again :

1) try with a minimal mouse section

Something possibly related to this started happening on my system a few days ago.

I have an NVIDIA card, and just a couple of games installed right now; XMoto and OpenArena. In both, my mouse cursor would jump to a seemingly random place a few seconds after I stopped moving it.

Figured out the 'unclutter' utility was doing it. Killing that fixed it, but I'm pretty sure it's never interfered before.

I'm having such problem too with quake2 and quake3.
But when using OpenGL GLX driver instead of SDL OpenGL in quake2 mouse works normal (with evdev).

UPD: I've made some research...
Setting SDL_VIDEO_X11_DGAMOUSE to 0 works for me : )

"export SDL_VIDEO_X11_DGAMOUSE=0"

DGA? Aha.
Seems like that extension is gone since the latest xorg-server 1.4.
I have a different problem ( http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/8559 ), but it's also related to DGA.
