kernel26vanilla in AUR

I have created a PKGBUILD for that latest vanilla kernel.

Yes. No patches! You can add your own as you desire. I know specific module packages like ipw3945 have to be compiled for this. Maybe other people can start working on those:

http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?d … 1&ID=13826

As you'll see there's more stuff that can get cleaned up in the PKGBUILD. If you can clean  it up even further please post the changes here and I will clean it up in the AUR.

Thanks,
Raymano

Re: kernel26vanilla in AUR

What's the difference when you clean up the official PKGBUILD and use the one in AUR? None, right? To cut it short, I don't think the kernel26vanilla package should even exist because if people would like (and know how) to add their own patches and remove the ones they don't like, then they would surely have just used the official PKGBUILD as a base.

Re: kernel26vanilla in AUR

I wanted it for myself. Thought I'd share. That's all.

Maybe that the one in AUR is *already* cleaned up.

Did you read it or did you not? "difference when you clean up the official PKGBUILD and use the one in AUR"

djclue917 - chill. His point is quite clear IMO, and does not justify that kind of response.

Re: kernel26vanilla in AUR

Raymano, there is something nice about running a vanilla kernel. With your PKGBUILD I dont have to do all the work myself. Thanks. By the way the package needs updating with the latest upstream patches.
