Easy MPD question [SOLVED]

I installed MPD for a single user today. It works great with Emphasis, E17's music player. How do I start it automatically? It won't start as a daemon because it's set up only for my user account. Generically what I'm asking is, how do I start a program after login for a single user?

Re: Easy MPD question [SOLVED]

You use the autostart possibilities of your WM/DE?

Or ~/.xinitrc.

I ran into this a bunch of times searching, but I'm not really sure how to launch an application from here. Do you know how to do this?

Re: Easy MPD question [SOLVED]

Better instal MPD as it should be: as deamon.

But if you still want to do as you started so just edit that .xinitrc and add one more line into it:
exec mpd

skottish: see /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc for example

I hate sigs. This one only exists to remind myself to get an avatar.

Re: Easy MPD question [SOLVED]

Thanks for the help. The .xinitrc method works great.
