wine 0.9.49 and OpenGL

Hi!
Today i upgraded from 0.9.48 to 0.9.49 and it pretty much broke my Direct3D - i get this error:

err:wgl:X11DRV_ChoosePixelFormat No libGL on this box - disabling OpenGL support !

I already read here http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=39999 that i need libGL.
But i can't install it, here's the error log:

pacman -Sy libgl

 kdemod ist aktuell

:: nvidia-utils Benötigt quake4
:: nvidia-utils Benötigt etqw
:: nvidia-utils Benötigt gstreamer0.10-bad
:: nvidia-utils Benötigt mplayer
:: nvidia-utils Benötigt compiz-core

So libgl is conflicting with nvidia-utils, but i can't remove nvidia-utils, because it seems that the driver itself and even compiz needs it - does this make sense?

Thanks in advance, Hauke

nvidia-utils provides libGL - you shouldn't need to install the MESA implementation (provided in the libgl package)

Maybe try reinstalling nvidia-utils?  Do you have a libGL.so.1.2 file in /usr/lib?

And if it is not there (but libGL.so is present) then simply create a symlink.

ln -s libGL.so libGL.so.1.2

Re: wine 0.9.49 and OpenGL

same solution as i did...

ln -s libGL.so libGL.so.1.2

i too have that conflict with libgl... but you have it already in conflicting package so doing that solve all problems! big_smile

Re: wine 0.9.49 and OpenGL

nice, thanks for the replies :-) - Cn3 works now, but in wine 0.9.49 i get a lot more errors than with 0.9.48. The logs are too long to post them here so i uploaded them:

http://www.theageofsound.de/uploads/wine0948
http://www.theageofsound.de/uploads/wine0949

They both are 100% reproducable.
At the moment it seems wine 0.9.48 starts the game more smoothly.

Best wishes, Hauke

Re: wine 0.9.49 and OpenGL

im trying to fix my wine becuase my diablo2 is not finding any video modes anymore.
i check to see if i had libgl in my usr/lib and i dont.
next i go to pacman -Sy libgl
it says "libgl conflicts with catalyst-utils. Remove catalyst-utils?"
i answer yes
then i get this:
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: catalyst-utils requires enemy-territory
:: catalyst-utils requires kdemod-ksplash-engine-flexible
:: catalyst-utils requires mesa
:: catalyst-utils requires mplayer
:: catalyst-utils requires xine-lib
:: catalyst-utils requires catalyst

how can i go about fixing this? uninstall the proprietary drivers? or is it a permission issue or what?

btw these are the errors i get in the console when i try to run the vid test for diablo 2:

libGL error: drmMap of framebuffer failed (Cannot allocate memory)
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
X Error of failed request:  GLXBadContext

Re: wine 0.9.49 and OpenGL

pacman -Rd catalust-utils
pacman -S libgl
files showed up in usr/lib
i tried to run winefile it wouldnt even draw it after the upgrade.
i tried to restart and was dumped to dark place instead of kdm loading.
i reversed all changes and now im back at my desktop.
Is there any other options?

Re: wine 0.9.49 and OpenGL

I'm having an issue, myself, but I'm about to say it's irreparable due to poor driver support.

I tried xf86-video-ati but X displays very poorly, like TV static, though wine runs games fine (through the ugly static).
I'm now using catalyst, catalyst-utils, and X displays perfectly but GL doesn't work! This is a sick trade-off that no one should have to deal with. tongue

I'm surely open for suggestions.
