Changing Deskbar applet actions

When I have the computer actions (logout, restart, etc.) enabled for the deskbar applet, if I type 'restart' it just restarts X, not actually the whole computer. Does anyone know how or where to change those actions, or is it hardcoded in the source?  I searched online, but couldn't find any documentation.

Thanks, Scott

Re: Changing Deskbar applet actions

A quick browse through the source code (gdmactions.py) it seems to be coded in the application.

Are you using gdm as a login manager ?

Re: Changing Deskbar applet actions

Yes, I'm using GDM, and selecting any of the actions (logout, shutdown, restart, etc) from the gnome menu work just fine. I'm not a coder enough to tell by looking at the source how to go about fixing that, or exactly what function is being called to do the restart.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Scott
